Agapanthus orientalis - blue is a clumping plant with strappy green leaves. Commonly known as "Star of Bethlehem" (flowering around Christmas time). The large head of mauve/blue flowers are arranged at the end of a tall stem and make a flamboyant statement during Summer. Agapanthus are tough plants well-suited to Australian conditions, needing little water once established. They require little maintenance and are best mass planted to create a magnificent display.
