Description

Aglaonemas are collected all over the world for their colourful, patterned leaves and their easy growing attitudes. The Red Fountain displays pink or red leaves with light splatters of green throughout. Every leaf pattern is slightly different, so there's no copying "ill have what she has."

Let's nerd out with a fun fact!

*Aglaonema derives from Greek and combines ‘agláos’ (shining) and ‘néma’ (thread). This refers to the flowers’ shiny stamens. The plant does flower, but very modestly. The flowers are under the leaf and grow in an ear surrounded by a bract, with female flowers at the base and male flowers higher up. The male flowers have tiny shiny stamens from which the plant derives its name. As the flowers are pretty unimpressive and Aglaonema puts a lot of energy into them, it’s best to cut them off to preserve the plant’s decorative use.

Aglaonema's handle lower light levels than most plants. They are classified as the good gals throwing very few plant-tantrums. They come from humid rainforests in Asia, and so they love a nice shaded, humid spot in moist soil.

  • Quick Facts
  • What to use me for: Great tabletop plant for an office or waiting rooms

    I grow to: 60cm high, 60cm wide

Where to place me: I like a bright spot indoors or full shade outdoors. I can handle lower light levels indoors but I won't grow as fast and my leaves might not be as bright in colour.

My features: I am toxic so make sure you keep me away from little hands and paws

Please take care when choosing your plants. Some plants are poisonous and individuals may be more sensitive or react differently.

  • Size
  • I am currently 10-15cm tall in a 50mm nursery tube

  • Growing
  • Drink preferences:  You only need to water me when the first few cms of my soil are dry to touch. In the warmer months, this might only be every 10 days in the cooler months 2-3 weeks but this all depends on your soil, light conditions, and heat. You can check out our blog to get a few more tips and tricks on watering.

Potting needs: I really like a good quality potting mix and will do well in a 170mm pot.

Tips and tricks: My lower leaves will yellow and die off, when this happens just cut them off at the base. Keep an eye out for mealybugs they do love me see how to get rid of them.

  • Delivery
  • Our plants are beautifully grown and have well-developed roots. They are hardened, can be planted directly into the planters and are excellent performing Indoor plants - it’s our plant promise guarantee!

We carefully package your plants into a customised box to ensure safe transport, healthy plants and fast, free delivery to your door
