Description

The Archontophoenix alexandrae also known as the Alexander palm is a tall, native palm that has very beautiful and elegant fronds. She looks great in a tropical garden as a specimen palm or in a mass planting. You need a frost-free climate for this one or a nice spot indoors. It likes semi-shade too - useful in large gardens.

Fertilise fortnightly from spring to autumn with Liquid Blood and Bone.  When your palm gets bigger, give it organic, slow-release fertiliser.  She likes to be kept moist, especially while it’s getting established. But once established, keep it dry in winter and moist in summer.

 Quick Facts

  • What to use me for: Can tolerate boggy soil, does well in pots, looks great in tropical gardens

  • I grow to: Grows 10-24 metres high 2-4.5m wide

  • Where to place me:  Enjoys Full Sun, however, as a young plant that is still establishing, it prefers shade. Likes to be kept moist, especially while it’s getting established but once established, keep it dry in winter and moist in summer. Grows well in the garden also in pots outdoors.

  • How far to space me: 2-3m

  • Soil Conditions: Suitable for most soil types, can tolerate boggy soil. She likes to be kept moist, especially while it’s getting established. But once established, keep it dry in winter

  • My features: Large creamy-white flowers and small red fruits appear from the base of the crown shaft, mostly in autumn.

Our plants are beautifully grown, mature tube stock with well-developed roots. They are guaranteed hardened, can be planted directly into the ground and are excellent performers for your garden.

We carefully package your plants into a customised box to ensure safe transport, healthy plants and delivery to your door.

Please take care when choosing your plants. Some plants are poisonous and individuals may be more sensitive or react differently
