Description

Codiaeum variegatum is a shrub or small tree that is widely grown as an ornamental garden plant in tropical gardens or as a good staple pot plant.

Crotons need bright, indirect light. They do not like unfiltered sunlight but thrive in full sun to dappled sunlight. Vibrant colours depend on the bright light. She won't do well in cooler environments at all. Keep them evenly moist in the summer and reduce watering in the winter to biweekly. Mist frequently during the growth period.

Pop her in a pot on your balcony or indoors where she will receive brightly lit light, and she will be sure to make you smile.

  • Growing
  • Well-grown croton keeps its leaves all the way to the soil level—and the trick to this is to provide steady warmth. Even in outdoor settings, crotons drop leaves after a cold night. These plants respond well to trimming, so if your croton becomes leggy, prune it back. The plant will regrow from the cut portion. Sometimes growers want a denser, bushier plant. Cutting back croton to where you want the bushing to start will help develop a more lush and thicker foliaged plant. Vibrant leaf colours depend on the quality of light. Don't shy away from providing lots of bright, shifting sunlight.

Apply liquid fertiliser during the growing season only.

  • Delivery
  • Our plants are beautifully grown, mature tube stock with well-developed roots. They are guaranteed sun-hardened, can be planted directly into the ground and are excellent performers for your garden - it's our plant promise guarantee!

We carefully package your plants into a customised box to ensure safe transport, healthy plants and fast, free delivery to your door.
