Homalomena 'Emerald Gem' 85mm

Have you ever seen the rich green shiny leaves on Homalomena 'Emerald Gem'? These spade-shaped leaves bring a totally tropical look and best of all he's an evergreen.

Description

This lovely will grow in a pot or in the ground without fuss, so you can keep a few chic containers indoors and some mass planted near the pool or deck. Try planting Homalomena in groups of three along a shady border for a lush jungle feel that doesn’t need a lot of maintenance.

The year-round foliage purifies your air and greens up a boring patio or pool area. What’s not to like? Eventually Emerald Green will form a nice thick clump, holding its leaf tips 40cms in the air. In the summertime, it’ll produce slender green spathes too.

*Please note this plant is toxic to humans and animals if ingested

  • Quick Facts
  • What to use me for: I’m a pretty, shiny indoor plant and a shady tropical border filler. Your Homalomena is toxic to animals and humans if ingested.

I grow to: I’ll reach 40cm high given some time

Where to place me: I like the bright indirect light inside and plenty of shade outside

How far to space me:  Give me 30cms of elbow room

Soil Conditions: Fertile well-drained soil suits me best.

  • Size
  • I come in a 3 pack - 85mm nursery grow pots with fancy root systems.

  • Growing
  • Your Homalomena Emerald Gem likes bright indirect light. They can tolerate lower light, but growth may slow significantly. If kept in direct sunlight, the foliage may burn.

Allow the top 50% of the soil of your Homalomena to dry out between watering. They do not like soggy soil but also do not like to dry out for extended periods of time. I will do well in average household humidity but I do love added humidity from a humidifier if you have on offer.

You may notice bottom leaves occasionally yellow and die. Don't worry be happy now! –this is normal. You can cut them off using clean, sharp snips. If this is happening rapidly, it can indicate that your plant is cold, is staying too wet, or is staying too dry. Fussy I know!

  • Delivery
  • All our indoor plants have fully established root systems and are ready to plant straight into your desired planters. We guarantee you won't be disappointed. It's a really clever pack, the instant fix to having your very own indoor garden!

We carefully package your plants into a customised box to ensure safe transport, healthy plants and delivery to your door.
