Iris reticulata Dwarf Blue

Iris reticulata Dwarf Blue is a classic beauty with narrow, green arching leaves that act as a perfect backdrop for the beautiful blue and yellow flowers that appear in late winter to spring. This plant makes the perfect pot plant and also looks amazing mass planted as a border plant.

Description

The Iris reticulata Dwarf Blue is a true beauty and one that adds welcome colour to your garden especially after winter. His narrow, green leaves make a neat and tidy border but his blue flowers are the true stand out of the plant. Once established they are hardy and can handle periods of drought and light frosts. They look great in a pot, under a tree, rockeries or mass planted along a path. Place him in full sun to partly shaded positions in well-drained soil for the best effect.

Water well, after planting the bulbs. Keeping the soil dry in summer, helps in setting the buds in the following year. Iris plants are drought tolerant once established and require little watering during the long summer period, it's good to keep the soil moist and not waterlogged during the growing season. Like all bulbs, dwarf iris rot easily if overwatered or if the soil is too heavy and poorly drained.
