Monstera with pot option

Monstera Deliciosa Tauerii, aka Swiss Cheese Plant, is one of the hottest indoor plants ever!  It's like the mullet version of houseplants, it came back in 2020, everyone wants one and they require such minimal care! The Tauerii rocks big glossy green leaves which grow on to develop cool-looking ridges and holes. He's the dwarf version growing to approx 2m.

Description

This tropical babe has travelled around the world and made himself right at home in many lounge rooms and office spaces.

The Monstera Deliciosa Tauerii he is a fast grower and when planted in a pot can reach 2m tall.  The Tauerii is the dwarf version of the Monstera. In his natural, tropical rainforest environment he is hemiepiphyte growing up trees and spending some of his life as an epiphyte. So if you want the dude to grow tall and not wide use a trainer in your pot and he will be sure to reach great heights.

He loves a spot that receives bright light but not direct sunlight and gives him good water when the soil is dry to touch. Make sure you plant him in a large pot using a good quality, well-draining potting mix.

He only gets better with age so sit back and watch the dude grow.

  • Quick Facts
  • What to use me for: Creating indoor jungle vibes

I grow to: 2m high, 1.5m wide in a pot (I get a bit out of control when I am planted in the ground)

Where to place me: I need bright indirect light in the house and warm sheltered position outside. I will tolerate low light, but could get a bit leggie. I'll grow faster and become more dramatic in a bright spot. Rotate your Monstera periodically to ensure even growth on all sides and dust the leaves often so the plant can photosynthesize efficiently.

Soil Conditions:  I need a well-drained potting mix

My features: Most parts of me are toxic apart from my fruit which you can only eat when I am ripe. My fruit tastes like a tropical smoothie, a mixture of banana and pineapple.

Please take care when choosing your plants. Some plants are poisonous and individuals may be more sensitive or react differently.

  • Size
  • I am currently 20cm tall in a 100mm nursery pot.

  • Growing
  • Most often yellowing occurs due to over or underwatering. If you see a combination of yellow and brown on the same leaf, it is typically due to overwatering. Check-in with the soil to determine if it matches your findings.

Lack of splits and holes in the leaf of a Monstera can be caused by many different factors, but generally, it means the plant isn't settled in an ideal environment. Check the light and water your plant is receiving, and adjust as needed. You can also take your plant's aerial roots and push them down into the soil so the plant can absorb more nutrients. It is good to note that your plant will only develop holes on its more mature leaves, so sometimes you just have to be super patient!

If he's getting way too big! Prune him back.

Fertilise only during the growing season and if you are using a premium potting mix with slow-release fertiliser then this won't need to take place until the 6month mark.

Please note if planted in the natural ground these plants grow very large, actually huge! and have invasive roots so we recommend keeping it in a pot.

  • Delivery
  • Our plants are beautifully grown and have well-developed roots. They are hardened, can be planted directly into the planters and are excellent performing Indoor plants - it’s our plant promise guarantee!
