Olea europaea Frantoio aka Frantoio Olive Tree is renowned around the world for being one of the best olive oil varieties that comes from where else but Tuscany, Italy. Description

The Olea europaea Frantoio is a great olive tree with dark green elongated leaves with a beautiful silver underside. The Frantoio is more like a tree than other olive tree varieties and has an open, airy canopy, making it great as a feature tree in the garden or a container.

This babe likes to be hot and dry in Summer and Cool in Winter and will not do well in high humidity situations. However, once established, it requires little watering and can handle occasional frosts.

Small white flowers will appear in Spring, followed by green fruit, which will ripen to black in Autumn. The Frantoio fruit is renowned for its oil content and might be the best olive tree for you if you are planning to make your own olive oil - in fact, the word Frantoio refers to the village press used to extract the prized oil.
