Philodendron hederaceum - 85mm

Philodendron hederaceum also goes by the name of Sweetheart Vine or Heart Leaf Philodendron and some know her as the philodendron cordatum but we do-gooders have to list her as her correct name since birth and that is Philodendron hederaceum

Description

She often gets mislabeled Philodendron cordatum - the cordatum grows along the ground and gets much larger but the hederaceuum grows upwards and has more of a vining nature. Philodendron means treehugger, as most Philodendrons love to climb high up trees. She is an evergreen perennial vine, native to Tropical America and has the reputation of being one of the easiest houseplants. Known for her heart-shaped leaves and trailing vine she is a decor keeper.

  • Quick Facts
  • What to use me for: It is a cascading / climbing plant so is great for hanging baskets indoors

    I grow to: 3-6m high, 1m wide

Where to place me: Like bright indirect light, can also handle lower light levels but may not grow as well. I cope well in Winter compared to the pothos varieties.

Please take care when choosing your plants. Some plants are poisonous and individuals may be more sensitive or react differently

  • Size
  • I come to you grown in a 85mm nursery grow pot

  • Growing
  • Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Increase the frequency with increased light. Any humidity level will do, but moist air will help lead to larger leaves and faster growth.

Fertiliser – Feed philodendron houseplants with a balanced liquid foliage houseplant fertilizer that contains macro-nutrients. Water the plant with the fertiliser monthly in spring and summer only. Slow growth and small leaf size is the plant’s way of telling you that it isn’t getting enough fertiliser. Pale new leaves usually indicate that the plant isn’t getting enough calcium and magnesium, which are essential micro-nutrients for philodendrons.

  • Delivery
  • Our plants are beautifully grown, mature tube stock with well-developed roots. They are guaranteed sun-hardened, can be planted directly into the ground and are excellent performers for your garden.

We carefully package your plants into a customised box to ensure safe transport and healthy plants. Delivered right to your door approx 3-8 days.
