Description

Philodendron minima is also known as Rhaphidophora tetrasperma, Philodendron 'Ginny', Philodendron 'Piccolo' or Amydrium 'Ginny'.  Her small glossy green heart-shaped leaves develop distinctive notches and outlines. The contrast in leaf texture is what makes her stand out. Because she's easy to take care of and in high demand, this cutie would make a wonderful houseplant!

She prefers indirect light that is moderate to bright. To avoid burning her delicate foliage, find a location where the sunlight never touches the leaves.  When watering, make sure to let the soil dry completely between applications to prevent rot. She also loves to stay clean, give her a shower or wipe over if you see any dust on her leaves.

Our plants are beautifully grown and have well-developed roots. They are hardened, can be planted directly into the planters, and are excellent performing Indoor plants - it’s our plant promise guarantee!

  • Quick Facts
  • What to use me for: I’m an indoor plant that will suit everyone and anyone's home with designer chic and I can really soften an outdoor space

I grow to: up to 1m high, 40cm wide

Where to place me:  I need bright indirect light in the house and a warm sheltered position outside. I will tolerate low light, but I'll grow faster and become more dramatic in a bright spot.

My features:  I can either spread, hang or climb. Your choice?

Please take care when choosing your plants. Some plants are poisonous and individuals may be more sensitive or react differently.

  • Growing
  • How to water me
I am very forgiving and don't need too much water because I can store water in my leaves. A good rule of thumb is to give me a drink when my leaves start to pucker ever so slightly.

    Soil PH
I will do my best with a soil PH level between 5.5-6.5, you can read more about the importance of PH levels here

    Potting needs
I really like a good quality potting mix and will do well in a 170mm pot.

    Tips and tricks
I don't like being repotted often and do not respond well to low light situations. If I am continuously subjected to low light, I will be an extremely slow grower and my leaves will remain small. If you want to give me a fuller appearance, take a cutting from the top stem, which will encourage me to grow new stems. Otherwise, I look good cascading down a shelf or if you want me to stand upright give me a bit of support using a fancy plant stake. Keep an eye out for Mealybugs they do love me see how to get rid of me.
