Scindapsus Pictus Exotica

Two plants that often get confused as the same. The 'Exotica' and 'Argyraeus'

So here is the low down.

The Exotica has larger leaves that curl at the edges and variegation appears splotchy across larger areas of the leaf surface with a lower contrast of variegation.

Scindapsus, Satin Pothos, Silk Pothos give us another name and we will list it.

She is a vigorous vining plant whose light green foliage is speckled with silvery, reflective variegation. Yes, these plants like to climb. Their vines tend to shoot long and sparse with aerial roots that searching for wood to cling to. It's often why the tips of your plants become so sparse.

She likes to show off her bigger green-leaves, she's a hanger a dazzler and all-round show-off!

Pop me in the bathroom, I like it there. Water occasionally, and I'll usually be totally sweet. Water me only when the top 1-2" of the soil feels dry.

Quick Facts:

    • What to use me for: I’m an indoor feature plant that’ll grow up a totem or drape down from a shelf. Thrives in both bright indirect light and low-light conditions (but ill keep my patterns if kept in bright indirect light). Keep me warm and take care not to overwater me. Cold drafts and soggy soil are two things it won't tolerate.
    • I grow to: I’ll reach 5 metres in length and 1 metre in width.
    • Where to place me: On a high shelf or a pot with a totem. Keep me out of direct sunlight, please. Bright to medium indirect light is good.
    • How far to space me: I need 50cms of elbow room.
    • Soil Conditions: I’d like free-draining potting mix, please doesn't like to be overwatered so make sure you allow the top half of her soil to dry out between waterings. Water regularly, allowing top 1-2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings. Yellowing leaves may indicate overwatering, or poor drainage.
    • Pruning tip: Your plant will benefit from occasional pruning, which helps it to branch out and become fuller. Spring is the best time to cut it back. Curl me around your the top surface of your pot if you want me to bush up.
    • Please note : Satin ‘Pothos’ are toxic to most animals if consumed.
