Description

With pea-like pearls swirled in cream, this elegant succulent is easy to grow. He will handle some direct sun, but too much can cause him to burn and may cause a stressed-out plant during hot weather. A few hours of morning sun is fine; relocate him if he is looking a bit unhealthy. He thrives best when grown in dappled sun or under shade cloth.

This is a succulent plant, and so he is drought tolerant, surviving long periods without water. His water-storing abilities allow him to be watered thoroughly one week and then pretty much forgotten till the next few weeks.

What's in this cute box then?

1 x Variegated String of Pearls plant
1 x Self-watering pot (choose from 10 colours) Aussie made.
1 x Coconut coir fibre mat - keeps the pests away and looks fancy on top of your soil

  • Quick Facts
  • What to use me for: Perfect for an indoor hanging basket, plant shelfie or your teen's rooms dripping over a few study books (wink, wink).

Where to place me: Easy to grow I just need bright light and not too much direct sun.

Watering conditions: Go easy on the watering can and remember I'm a succulent! Let me dry out between watering and only water every 2-3 weeks. A small liquid feed during the growing season would be lovely, please!

Soil conditions: Succulents need excellent drainage. Use a cactus mix that is good & chunky allowing the water to easily drain out.

Please take care when choosing your plants. Some plants are poisonous, and individuals may be more sensitive or react differently.

  • Growing
  • Watering
Variegated String of Pearls, like all succulents, don’t like to be waterlogged, but this species can take more water than most. Allow the soil to dry out almost completely between watering during the warm growing season. Water once every two or three weeks during dormancy.

    Soil
Succulent potting soil, but sandy soil is preferable. We highly recommend leaving your plant in its grow pot for some time to encourage more mature root systems. If moving to a new pot please be mindful of disturbing the roots. *Please note we can not ship soil bag with this product.

    Feeding
Use a general fertiliser twice a year during the growing season only to enhance new growth and the plant’s overall health over fertilising causes malformed growth.

    Propagation
The string of Pearls propagates via clippings. Allow the cut end to callous over and insert into the dirt during warm months. Roots sprout from the leaf nodes.
