Haworthia is a large genus of succulent plants native to Southern Africa. Most form compact mini rosettes and contain leaf windows with glass-like translucent panels. Haworthias are the stars of the Asphodelaceae family and one of the most popular succulents. While the majority of succulents like full sun, Haworthias are more adapted for semi-shade conditions, often growing under shrubby plants or rock overhangs. They do not dig loads of water, especially during the cooler months. Grow in a sandy free draining media and water sparingly. As a guide, water very well and then leave to dry out over a period of time.
