Too much water can invite unwanted guests: mould and fungus are just the beginning. Plus, root rot is something they don't take kindly to (and neither do we!). Little surprise that regular spraying isn't actually beneficial for plants either- so why risk it? For what should be every green thumbs priority - combating over/under-watering quirks with humidifying tactics instead is essential here; because when misty oasis start cropping up in households without adequate precautions, gnats soon follow…

Alternatives to Misting
So if misting isn't always the best option for your houseplants, what should you do instead? A few ideas include:
- Grouping multiple plants together (which helps create a humid microclimate).
- Placing trays filled with pebbles or gravel near the base of your plants (will help increase humidity levels).
- Using a humidifier in the same room as your plants (this is especially helpful during winter months).

Placing some plants in your bathroom. But it might not be humidity alone that will also boosting growth. The theory is the bathroom is the humid room and so plants do well in there, but the bathroom will also often have a frosted window which provides this amazing light and bonus, there's also usually a heat lamp or a heater drying it out.
- Instead of splashing on leaves occasionally,... turn up that humidifier and give those leaf babies all they need with just H2O vapour—it'll work wonders in boosting growth potentials! You can also use self-watering pots and a Sustee soil moisture meter that does not require batteries! So you don't have to worry about over-watering your houseplants manually every day!
While misting may work well for rainforest monkeys, it's not always the best choice when it comes to houseplants. Too much mister can lead to fungus growth and root rot, while most plants don't need extra humidity anyway! Luckily there are plenty of alternatives that will keep both you and your houseplant happy - like grouping multiple plants together, using trays filled with pebbles or gravel near their bases and setting up automatic watering systems - so you never have to worry about overwatering! With these tips in mind, you'll be able to keep all of your green friends healthy and thriving!
