Ceropegia Woodii Variegata 'Variegated Chain of Hearts'

The rare variegated version of Chain of Hearts (or sometimes called String of Hearts). A cute little heart-shaped leaf of pink, cream leaves with splashes of lime green and grey. She's quite the lady! A delicate trailing plant suitable for hanging baskets or dripping off your shelf. Her colours will change with the seasons, and the intensity of light and her leaves will grow on long vines.

Description

The Variegated Chain of Hearts is a true, rare beauty. She is slow-growing and will take her time to reach 1m, but her heart-shaped pink, cream and green leaves make it worth the wait.

Chain of hearts will grow happily indoors with nice, bright light. She likes to be kept on the dry side so make sure her soil is dry to touch before watering again and in winter cut right back to once every 2-3 weeks. She does have a light root system, so we recommend keeping your chain of hearts in the nursery grow pot she arrives in for the first 6 months of her life, she doesn't like to be disturbed too much (mother's intuition).

If you are worried about keeping her alive, we highly recommend a Sustee watering device to know when to water and when not to water.

  • Quick Facts
  • What to use me for: Perfect for hanging pots, fab addition to your plant arrangements.

I grow to: I grow in a long vine and can reach a meter long

Where to place me: Part shade to full shade in the garden or bright indirect light indoors.

Watering conditions: Water when the soil is dry to touch and back off right off when weather is cooler. Less is more. This plant goes dormant in Autumn and Winter and therefore needs less watering.

Soil Conditions: I love a free-draining potting mix... pretty please!

We cannot send this item gift wrapped as it is very fragile and needs to be packaged very specifically to make sure she arrives to you safely. Please DO NOT add white tissue wrapping to this order.

  • Size
  • I come in a 100mm nursery grow pot.

  • Growing
  • When re-potting ensure the pot you put them in is only slightly larger than the roots—the bigger the pot, the more soil. The more soil, the longer it takes her to dry out after watering.

A little tip to encourage new growth is to take a vine & loop it around on the top of the pot, making sure the nodes have contact with soil. Bobby pins are super useful to hold them in place. The nodes will eventually grow roots, and then she will give you a lot more chains!

  • Delivery
  • We carefully package your plants into a custom box to ensure safe transport and a healthy plant delivered to your door.
