I'm a hard-to-kill type of plant, and I won't be demanding on your green thumb, no way hosey even your 6-year-old could care for me.

  • Quick Facts
  • What to use me for: I brighten a shelf, desk or windowsill and boost your air quality. Take me to the office!

I grow to: I’ll cascade to two metres.

Where to place me: Outside I need full to part shade and indoors I’ll cope in most low light situations. Jade tolerates low light conditions but its growth will be slowed down. If you want to see your Jade pothos growing fast and healthy give it as much bright light as possible. Just keep me away from harsh sunlight it will only Eek burn my leaves.

Soil Conditions: I need a well-drained potting mix that stays on the drier side. A sure-fire way to kill me is too much drink.

Please take care when choosing your plants. Some plants are poisonous, and individuals may be more sensitive or react differently.

  • Growing
  • These babes are really easy to grow but here are a few tips to make them look their best.

    Lighting
These guys can handle low light situations but he will perform best in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight will burn his leaves so if growing him outdoors make sure he is in part shade to full shade.

    Watering
These guys aren't too needy, try giving them a water every 1-2 weeks. Make sure you have a hole in the pot so they are not sitting in water otherwise they will develop root rot. If their leaves start to wilt top him up... if his leaves start to yellow it might be a sign of overwatering so go easy.

    Soil
Pothos are so popular due to the fact that it can be grown in water or in dry soil. They like to have the soil dry out between waterings.

    Propagation
Cuttings can be taken from a mother plant and rooted in water and kept in water as a houseplant. This is convenient for placing a pothos plant in hard to reach areas in a jug of water where it can remain untouched as long as water remains in the jug.

Strangely enough, cuttings started in one growing medium have a hard time switching to the other. A pothos started in the soil can have a tough time surviving if moved to water, and a pothos cutting started in water may not do very well in soil, especially if it has spent most of its time growing in water. Read more about propagation here.
