Low hedges can flank a path to guide pedestrians to the destination, mid-size hedges are often seen as privacy screens and tall hedges are used as windbreaks. Hedges can be just 300mm wide!
A shrub is a mini to medium-sized woody plant. With their persistent woody stems above the ground, they are notable from trees by their number of stems and smaller heights.
Ground covers are the plants that form the lowest layer, an accompaniment to shrubs and trees. Ground covers fill that niche where the other forms do not.
Plants are classified as 'climbers' if they have a vertical orientation and do not have a trunk, instead relying on other plants to provide a scaffold. Come take a peek in the plant nursery.

Murraya Min-a-Min is a dwarf form of Murraya paniculata and is most popular for use as a low hedge. It is commonly known as "Dwarf Orange Jessamine". A hardy, evergreen shrub with small, glossy, bright green, densely arranged leaves and bearing delicate creamy-white, scented flowers in the warmer months. Ideal for topiary use as it is easily pruned.
Murraya are generally happy in a variety of soil types but good drainage is critical, along with good soil structure rich in nutrients.
Like other citrus trees soil deficiencies may show up in a yellowing of the leaves. It’s important to improve the soil and regular mulching with chunky mulch which is a good way to help prevent nutrient deficiencies.
Please don't be tempted to pile up the mulch, directly around the stem as this can promote fungal diseases.
Fertilise at least once a year with a premium slow release fertiliser. Water only as needed as I really don't like wet feet.
Over-watered plants may show the same symptoms like dry, thirsty plants. If the soil is moist then the issue is unlikely to be lack of water.

Garden Coach: Week 1
Keeping your plants alive the first 30 days is critical. Don't worry, I’ll guide you through
Let me kick off with watering.
Succulents don’t like a lot of water and long periods of drought won’t hurt yours one bit, they’re the best type of plant for forgetful folk, or those that are away from home a fair bit, so don’t feel bad if you haven’t given him a drink yet. One of the most common mistakes people make is watering them too much!
The best potting mix for succulents is a well draining one. Using a good potting mix of porous soil for succulents is super important to prevent overwatering.
Water your succulent when the soil is dry. Soak it thoroughly rather than giving it regular sips and always empty excess water from the saucer as it will rot the roots. If you’re struggling try one of our self-watering pots they make a plant killer look like a pro!
In winter succulents need even less water. You can touch the soil each week and if it’s even a bit damp then leave it alone and try again the following week.
Succulents need little moisture and although it seems cruel, a sure-fire way to kill your beauty is by watering it frequently. This will turn it to mush.
If you are planting a straight line hedge, put your width as less than one meter.
