Description

Chamaedorea elegans also known as Parlor Palms are very popular because they can tolerate less than ideal conditions, in fact they love a bit of neglect.

These beautiful plants hold up luscious green fronds on clusters of delicate looking woody stems. The green fronds are long-fingered and textured bringing colour and movement to your indoor space or border. It’s hardly any wonder these are so popular.

They will grow to a metre high over time. When they are smaller they look fresh on a tabletop or sideboard and as they grow larger you can move them to the floor. If you want your palm to grow bigger, re-pot him regularly and feed him with a good quality fertilise in the growing season only.

They need little attention tolerating both bright conditions and low light - they also don’t really like much water, so if you tend to kill your houseplant through neglect a parlor palm would love to come home to you.

  • Quick Facts
  • What to use me for:  I bring the tropical feel to your indoor spaces with my nice fronds and suit a shady border. If it’s not too hot there I look good in a container by the pool.

    I grow to: I’ll reach 100cms.

Where to place me: I need a partially shady space outside and I’ll tolerate low light indoors.

Soil Conditions: Most soils are fine but not waterlogged. If I’m in a pot I need a well-drained potting mix, and please step away with the weekly watering can.

Please take care when choosing your plants. Some plants are poisonous and individuals may be more sensitive or react differently.

  • Size
  • I am currently nice and tall at around 20-25cm in a 125mm nursery pot

  • Growing
  • Cut off brown dead fronds but resist shaping the living ones because they only have one point of growth. If you chop it, then the palm can’t grow.

  • Delivery
  • Our plants are beautifully grown and have well-developed roots. They are hardened, can be planted directly into the planters and are excellent performing Indoor plants - it’s our plant promise guarantee!

We carefully package your plants into a customised box to ensure safe transport, healthy plants and fast, free delivery to your door
