Westringia Jervis Gem

Westringia Jervis Gem

We love Westringia not least because they’re native plants, but because they’re so easy to grow. Newbies step right up.

Westringa Jervis Gem is a dwarf form of the well-known Wynyabbie Gem but the difference is it’ll grow 1 -1.2m high which is a lot less than Wynyabbie’s two-metre stretch.

Jervis Gem is smaller but it’s just as hardy. It’ll tolerate coastal areas, exposed sites and brighten a seaside garden with its velvety silver-grey foliage and delicate lilac-blue flowers that bloom nearly all year round.

It’s best used as a low informal hedge or screen, but does a wide border proud.

Quick Facts:

  • What to use me for:  Low hedges or I’ll cover exposed soil where other less hardy plants dare not tread.

  • I grow to:  1 - 1.2 metres high and 1 metre wide unless you trim me back.

  • I am currently:  15-20cm

  • Where to place me: In full sun please or partial shade at a push. I grow best with the sun on my face.

  • How far to space me:  As hedging 50cms at least.

  • Soil Conditions:  I like well-drained fertile soil best, but I am at home in poorer soils too. A layer of mulch and a Spring feed will keep me on my best behaviour.

Beautifully grown and mature in size with developed roots and guaranteed sun hardend. These plants can be inserted straight into the ground and make an excellent garden plant.

We carefully package your plants into a custom size box to ensure safe transport and a healthy plant delivered to your door.

Please take care when choosing your plants. Some plants are poisonous and individuals may be more sensitive or react differently

      Ready to grow

Our growing philosophy isn't rocket science. We simply hold our plants back longer, which means the root systems can establish. That means a better plant for you that's ground ready, achieving faster grow times.
